WRITE EXPLORE TRANSFORM - Writers retreat in Crete was a resounding success
We came to write,
and Crete wrote us back
not with ink,
but with mountain, bread,
and the luminous ache of belonging
October 13th marked the end of the inaugaral writer’s retreat in Crete. The retreat was focused on five themes related to Cretan literature, food, culture, myth and geography to create an immersive generative experience to ignite creativity. The response from the participants were overwhelmingly wonderful. Here is a sample of their comments:
"I went into the workshop with some clear goals. These were not only met but exceeded. I feel connected to a wider enterprise and have a better understanding of the ecosystem of writers I am living in."
"The sessions met me where I was and helped me grow in skill, perspective, and connection."
"The one on one sessions were incredible. Greek coffee fortune* was a very fun experience. Knossos tour was invigorating."
"The special events made the experience very special indeed."
"The small group dynamics worked well. The shared accommodations made for good bonding moments. The village was beautiful and the people were lovely."
"Free writing after the labyrinth session was empowering and healing. I had the most powerful visualizations and free writing experience afterward"
The 2026 edition of the retreat is now open for registration

Poetry can open where silence has closed.
It can slip past defenses, touch sensation,
and remind us that even our deepest wounds
can shine.
