Words that Move
What Does It Mean To Be A Poet ~ By Harilaos Stefanakis
What does it mean to be a poet you ask?
It means to be the song for those who cannot sing
To be the spoken word for those that cannot speak

It means to bind your words in spells for every soul in need of care
and to weave your words on purpose for the stories you must share

It means to cast your words as metal bowls that sing to hearts instead of minds
and to frame your words as windows that look beyond what you can find

It means to pour your words as mortar for foundations full of strength
and to lay your words as bricks to shelter life's full length

It means to sharpen words as edges to cut out truth before it dies
and to find the words that shield us away from further lies

It means to learn the incantations of those who've come before
and to find a way to use them to open up the door

What does it mean to be a poet you ask?
It means to be the song for those who cannot sing
To be the spoken word for those that cannot speak

Harry's writing has been described as a Swiss Army knife of genres and wisdom. He uses words to illuminate the human experience and mend the fractures of lived experience.
